Cary, NC Custom Pool & Hardscape Installation – Case Study
Blue Haven Raleigh Pools and Spas’s Riccobene project involved a custom pool, spa, grotto-style waterfall, hardscape, and outdoor bar at this stunning Cary, NC residence. When we first met with the client for their initial consultation, their creativity and ambition inspired us to transform their back yard into their dream outdoor space, perfect for hosting friends and family and relaxing in tranquility. One of the many exciting aspects of this project is the huge, meandering custom waterslide we helped the client design. Built by Dolphin Waterslides, the 30-foot waterpark-style slide twists and turns its way through secluded custom landscaping before plunging riders into the gorgeous custom freeform pool. The custom pool is surrounded by beautiful travertine coping, each piece hand-stenciled, cut, placed, and then polished for a perfect fit. The pool’s underwater ledge makes a great place to sit and relax, but so does the nine-foot spa that’s raised above the pool! This custom spa is ringed by the same custom-radius travertine coping as the custom pool.
What’s a grotto, anyway? I’s a beautiful stone overhanging waterfall made from natural boulders that stands tall next to the custom pool. Built by American Aquascapes of Burlington, this huge custom waterfall and stonework creates a wide-sheet cascade of water—a major focal point for the outdoor space. The grotto is paired with another custom stone waterfall that cascades naturally down natural boulders into the pool on the other side of the water slide. The grotto stone waterfall is flanked by two striking fire bowls and integrated with colored LEDs for an unforgettable night-time appearance. We’re proud of every custom pool we build, but this one is a personal favorite.
This project also included extensive hardscaping, including a raised ring of stone-filled planters with beautiful landscaping, a custom stone entry stairway, a large pool-side patio, and a fully covered outdoor bar with seating for up to ten people, built-in lighting, electrical, appliances, and a flat-screen TV.
